Mission
KidMix is a program targeting children and families in specific at-risk neighborhoods. Every week the streets are filled with the sound of children singing, shouting, and cheering in the high-energy, high-impact version of Children's Church called KidMix. The songs and games are followed by a focused lesson time, teaching the way Jesus did, using parables and real life illustrations. Moms and Dads look on, and even help with discipline, as the children recite the memory verse. The goal is to capture a child's imagination with a program that shows them an alternative to the lifestyle they see each day.

Vision
Our core principal is: "Ministry is Relationships." Our goal is to see people restored to a right relationship with our Heavenly Father. Every week, each kid is visited by one of our Site Pastors. This brief, yet consistent contact enables our pastors to build relationships, identify needs, and share the Gospel with the families in our community. As visitation teams go out each week, they invite kids, teens and parents to the various programs at the City of Refuge.

Volunteer Opportunities
This program is dependent upon volunteers. We are looking for dedicated people with a special heart for children to work as Site Pastors, overseeing visitation and a KidMix program for a specific community. Bus Captains visit a community or bus route for our indoor KidMix sessions. KidMix workers are needed to fill various roles in both our outdoor and indoor services.

These positions require completion of a volunteer application, interview and background check, and attendance of worker meetings. No formal training is necessary. Site Pastors have a commitment of approximately 4 to 5 hours per week. KidMix workers commit about 2 to 3 hours per week.

As we build relationships, we are able to demonstrate the love and acceptance of Jesus to both the children and their families. If you would like further information about volunteering in this program please contact: B.J. Shockey.

Donation Opportunities:
Currently, KidMix has four services weekly. The cost to sponsor one service is $100. To cover one community for a quarter, the cost is $1300. These donations only cover our operational expenses.

$20 will sponsor a child for a month. This pays for bus transportation to KidMix or an outdoor program in their community, a weekly visit to the home, and emergency needs as necessary.

KidMix Itinerary:
Sidewalk Sunday School & Visitation - Afterschool & Evenings on Monday - Friday
Indoor Sessions - Sunday Afternoon
Visitation - Saturday Afternoon
