Our clothes closet is stocked with new and gently used clothing that we provide to those living on the streets of Atlanta. Clothing is a basic necessity that most of us take for granted -but most homeless people have little more than the clothing on their backs. Not only are these individuals deprived the protection from the elements that clothing and shoes provides, but they are also unable to move beyond their circumstances - how can a person interview for a job without clean clothing and decent shoes? By providing fresh clothes we hope to restore the dignity and sense of self-worth to our brothers and sisters, and we that providing this most elemental need may also empower them.
Schedule The Clothes Closet is open during the hours of the "Safe Haven." We are always looking for donations of new and like new clothing, shoes and toiletries. If you would like to volunteer or to make donation please contact: Wendy Cerkovnik.
Volunteer Opportunities As the "Safe Haven" allows our brothers and sisters from the streets to come in for a time of refuge it gives us great opportunity to serve them. We need loving people to minister to our friends, prepare and serve food and do laundry.
We need volunteers to sort and distribute clothes to our friends from the street.
Donation Opportunities In order for success of "Safe Haven" we need donations of toiletry items such as deodorant, soap, shampoo, razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste and towels.
Our clothes closet is always looking for donations of new and like new men's and women's clothing. We also are looking for donations of new socks and underwear for both men and women.
